SheCodes Basics made me realize that is not that hard to code. If you dedicate a small amount of your time to learn, is super fun and anyone can do it!
I honestly took this course to add something to my resume and learn something new. Mission accomplished. this course had a lot of information for a 3-week course. I am considering purchasing the additional course.
As a serious beginner...not knowing how to code at all it was really enjoyable and very easy to learn!
I highly recommend SheCodes Basics! Not only was the material clearly explained, but the challenges for each lesson were an excellent incorporation of hands-on learning and priming the brain for the lessons and challenges that followed. Matt’s style of teaching the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is not only incredibly clear and concise, but also engaging, empowering, and demonstrates a deep and multilayered understanding of effective communication and teaching so that students aren’t just shown the material but are invited to thoroughly interact with, connect to, assimilate, and apply the information in each lesson with personalized creative vision.

As someone who has always had an interest in coding and tech but never knew how to get in (and having left school!) I really thought I would never be able to learn a skill such as this. After being recommended the course through a friend I couldn't be happier with the results so far! Great teaching tools and support through the Slack community and fun challenges with the appropriate amount of 'hand holding' vs encouragement to find the answers yourself! The SheCodes basic workshop is a great introductory course for those looking to learn different languages and explore different opportunities within the realm of coding/programming. The course is easy to follow, you receive help quickly through slack and the deadlines are flexible should you have other commitments such as a full-time job.

Well-structured workshop for getting familiar with JavaScript while building an application. This is a very good foundation for the frontend development learning path.

This course definitely was challenging but in all the best ways. It allows you to trial and error what works and work your way through why something doesn't work. The team was a great help in helping me when I was stuck on a problem. This makes me feel better prepared to continue on with my learning.
As someone who knew 0% on how to code, there were plenty of TikTok videos that stated coding as a fun, new career path. BUT it wasn't until I saw & attended a free SheCodes coding class that I was convinced coding can be fun, AND can be my new career path! Having completed the SheCodes Basics Workshop, I can confidently say I didn't feel alone in the learning progress whatsoever; fellow classmates from around the world along with reliable tech assistants who offered help in any challenge, or homework I was stuck on. Also the teaching materials were clear to understand, which is why I highly recommend beginners with zero skills in coding to take the SheCodes Basics Workshop! Now that I've built my first project, I'm excited to know what's in store for SheCodes Plus🤩
My learning through these two months was a wonderful experience. Matt was great at explaining every detail of programming. An overall 10/10 experience. Can't wait to begin the next workshops 🤞.
I enjoyed taking this course! It was challenging at times, but the Slack member support and search feature make it so that there's always help when you need it. As a complete beginner, I can honestly say I think it's amazing that in just 3 weeks I learned how to create a webpage! 😄 Cannot wait to continue my coding journey and learn more.
It was really fun learning about how to make a portfolio and I see myself building off of what I learned to create more awesome things!
After completing the SheCodes Beginner course, the SheCodes Plus course really challenged me and pushed me outside my comfort zone. I learned a lot of really useful skills and received plenty of help if I was stuck on a problem through the Slack chat with the SheCodes team. I am very proud of what I have learned and accomplished in this course and I am looking forward to continuing on in the SheCodes Pro courses.
A lot to learn but worth it
I would 100% recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to begin coding. The lessons can be challenging but Matt explains everything so clearly. You learn so many different technologies and you progress so quickly! I have learned so many things I never thought I could do. I have thoroughly enjoyed completing this course and I can't wait for the next!

Great program to begin learning responsive coding.
I was struggling to keep myself motivated with other online forms of learning, but was drawn to this course as it had a good structure and deadlines to meet to keep you on task. The addition of a slack community/ help center was what made me choose this course as in the initial steps it was incredibly beneficial being able to look at previous questions or post your own when you are really stuck, while being taught how to figure this out for yourself in the future. Could not fault this course!

It's natural to be skeptical about anything you buy on the internet. I've taken different courses before, and they ended up with disappointment. By recommendation of my manager, I've found SheCodes. I have learned amazing things, challenged by the weekly assignments and meeting the deadlines, and as a result, I've refreshed my memory on HTML, CSS, and Java. Before taking the workshop, I was able to do many things on my own, but the beauty of SheCodes is Matt explains every single thing with the reason behind them. In the end, you know which method you need to choose and why you are choosing it. I loved SheCodes and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Matt and his team, it couldn't be any easier to learn so much without losing any motivation, and only in a few weeks. You truly get out what you put in.
This workshop is fantastic when it comes to learning about using APIs. Javascript is tough but Matt lays it out really well for beginners.
With only 3 weeks I was able to learn basic of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It was a good start of the New Year for me, encouraging me to study in more advanced topic and expose myself to the coding world. Thanks for the nice course and great instruction.
Another great workshop from SheCodes! Glad I got to dive more in-depth into developments tools being used. The courses provided, there is a good balance of learning and creating. The on-call support through Slack is great to have if needed, but so far the encouragement to independently research solutions where possible is great to prepare for real-world experience.
I can't tell you how awesome SheCodes is, You should enroll workshops then you'll know what am i talking about. if you wanna start front-end development you've find the right place. Matt teaches you as well as possible, It's gonna be a fun journey and also full of learning. Along side the lessons you have access to a wonderful support team that you can ask your questions and as soon as possible you end up finding your way.
SheCodes was fast paced but really enjoyable. The videos explained things really well and it helped to see Matt trial and error things. I hope to take another workshop in the near future. The community on Slack with fellow students and mentors is very helpful for troubleshooting. I wish the feedback for the homework was a little more personable but with so many students I understand that it can't always be, but that's another reason why the community is helpful too. Thanks SheCodes for re-igniting my want to learn to code!

This was a fun, well-structured course. Matt did a great job breaking down the material into digestible chunks. My name is Sandra, I'm a molecular biologist. At university I learned programming in C and I hated it. Since then I have never had the slightest interest in learning to code. Recently, I've been interacting with programmers and I'm fascinated by the amount of things that it is possible to create. I attended to the free SheCodes workshop and I liked the way Matt explained the concepts, so I decided to sign up for SheCodes basic... and I loved it! It was easy to learn the concepts, the challenges at the end of each class made it easier to keep up with the topics. Plus it was super easy manage even with a full-time job. I'm very excited to keep learning and maybe signing up for SheCodes Pro . It was a great learning experience :)

The course seems to be covering all the basics, perhaps a bit hard to understand at points as some points are not well explained and to non-native English speakers this could pose a challenge but once you get over that the course seems to be structured in a simple way for easy learning and I look forward to learning more

When I first began the workshop, I wasn't a stranger to coding but even when you are a computer science student and know the basics of coding, there are so much more that you can learn with SheCodes' workshops. I absolutely loved the content, challenges and the useful tools that SheCodes introduced to me. I now have a complete different perspective when it comes to coding. I'm also so thankful for the very supportive team that helped me with all my questions and problems.

I took a web development course over three years ago. Back then, the program was fast paced and I was juggling so much, that although the course was enjoyable, the curriculum and pacing may not have been optimal for my learning development. Currently, I am a manual software tester, but have always wanted to get back to learning how to code. SheCodes has given me the opportunity to learn at my own pace and retain the knowledge while having fun!
I come from a hands on creative background. I've found that coding appeals to the technical creative side of myself. Matt has broken down each lesson so well, and I'm excited about each new lesson I learn.
I have learned so much! From barely even having seen a code to to understanding how it works and being able to build a page. I like that Matt's reviews are thorough and easy to keep up with and that you can go back and look through if you need to again. SheCodes Plus is an excellent addition to SheCodes Basics. It is a very useful workshop where you get to learn a bunch new stuff about JavaScript, APIs and hosting. Matt explains everything clearly and even though you might think building a weather app is challenging, it becomes fun and easy.

The most paedagogic coding class! I really like how every complex concept is broken down into simple language, with concrete examples. By so doing, everyone can learn coding! I've had so much fun working on this project! It has been a welcome creative output in between classes and exams. As always, the instruction videos are wonderful, but for this project I've found the lovely support team on Slack to be especially helpful. The team at SheCodes were also very approachable to get extensions etc. during exam season.

This has been such a fun experience. I love getting so deep into learning and coding, that the time goes by so fast. I can spend all day doing this! Matt has also been such a great teacher and he makes everything so easy to learn.
I enjoyed 3 weeks of learning something new and challenging myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone. I am currently a law student aspiring to combine the field of law and tech and this course was a great way to start.
