Matt is able to teach coding in an enjoyable and fun way. The short lessons make it possible to learn at your own pace and with every homework you submit you get a feeling of success. Being able to present an actual working "webpage" in the end makes it even better!

Definitely recommend SheCodes. It's broken down into digestible lessons and even though it can be a little confusing at times eventually it all starts to click as you put the pieces together. So excited to continue to learn more!

This workshop was a great introduction to coding. I love that the lessons are very thorough and then you have to apply each concept right away. It has been so much fun to learn the basics of coding. Learning HTML and CSS is almost like playing. Javascript was a little bit trickier but once you get the hang of it, it is so fun to create functions and variables to allow users to interact with the page. I definitely can't wait to learn more!

what a great workshop! A few weeks ago I started as an absolute beginner and today I built a webpage with HTML,CSS and JavaScript.
Great workshop for true beginners! I had no prior knowledge and learned so much in just 3 short weeks.
I found SheCodes structured enough for it to hold you accountable, but also fun and engaging. I am hoping to get onto the more advanced courses so I can learn more. I already had a bit of JS knowledge so the basics was not overly challenging, but I still enjoyed coding the project A LOT, it is my first real-looking webpage and I am quite happy with how it turned out!
I had a blast creating my online portfolio with Matt. He's so candid and doesn't mind making mistakes, which shows us ladies that it's ok to make mistakes and struggle. Things always come together if we keep working at them. I look forward to moving onto SheCodes React!
I would have never guessed I could absorb so much great information about coding and especially React! Matt lays everything out in such an organized and comprehendible way and makes it so much easier to grasp! Thank you!

SheCodes Basics was a great beginners course! I had some prior HTML/CSS knowledge from my MySpace days, but the instructor, Matt, did a great job going a little deeper into each topic. Javascript was brand new to me, so Week 2 was a little trickier but rewarding. Matt did a good job providing a clear overview of JavaScript basics. I loved all the exercises after each lesson, and I thought the weekly homework was an awesome way to put what I learned into practice. Overall, the course was appropriately challenging and fun!
An absolutely brilliant workshop! Challenging at times and a lot more granular than expected from a 3-week program. Very hands-on and with lots of practical tips!

This has been much more challenging but feels that much more rewarding. I've always liked coding but it's now that I realize that I think it's fun. The way JavaScript is taught in these lessons is far more digestible than in other courses, and while still difficult at times, not impossible. I feel that I've made it much farther than I have before. I already recommend these workshops to other people, and want to continue so I can get make a career out of this like I've wanted.

The units were entertaining, informative, and easily understood, even for a person who has absolutely zer0 coding and computer science background! This course was challenging in the best ways, however I was quite surprised at how naturally it came after getting a better understanding of the languages and the rules. This is easily the best $100 I've ever spent! I had always been told coding was only for people who are "really good at math". I'm glad I enrolled despite apprehensions. The class was so straight forward and easy to follow. Can't wait to continue developing skills for a career as a front end developer.
This course is a coding advantage. The fact that they teach you a language that many companies are using gives a plus to your learning. Although you must have some prior knowledge, I felt that my knowledge increased a lot and it was not so complicated for me. In addition, the support of the team always helps you get ahead.
This was completely out of my comfort zone coming from a health background, but I am so glad I did it. It was well set out and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this to fellow beginners!

SheCodes Basic was a lovely intro to HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I loved the classes and the challenges. I LOVE LOVE LOVED this course, it was very challenging but everything was still explained very nicely. I've been wanting to start coding for a while but have never been able to afford the courses. Then I came across SheCodes and it is honestly one of the best things I've ever done! The lessons are really easy to follow and when you complete the homework you get a real sense of achievement. I can't wait to upgrade to the next course.
wow...! I really feel like a developer now. I`d watched a lot of tutorials before this course but I never got the handle of Javascript as much as I do now. I think the reason of this mastery is that in each lesson there is a challenge to complete the lesson. so we are kinda forced to exercise everything we learn right after the tutorial. this way you get used to new things and gradually you store more skills in your coding arsenal. And finally, I absolutely recommend SheCodes plus because you're gonna ENJOY coding and this enjoying part is the most important thing in my opinion.
It's amazing what a person can achieve once they dedicate themselves and receive good guidance. That's why I recommend SheCodes to all women who want to enter the world of technology but don't know where to start. In no time you will be coding and it will be just the beginning of an exciting journey!
SheCodes workshops are amazing, but I really like this one, because it is close to Graphic Design. The final proyect is a portfolio, I recomend to use this oportunity and look futher to our futures, work slowly work secure and use this proyect in real life.
I just love every minute of these last two projects. I am looking forward to doing it again on my own and being able to put everything I learned to practice. It's been a pleasure to get into SheCodes and I will definitely miss the courses now that I have finished all.
Going through the workshop was pretty intense, for all the good reasons. I usually paused and asked myself how hard it would have been learning all that Java Script without an instructor who broke everything into reasonable bits that one can easily absorb and process. Matt has been such a great instructor. The Slack technical team was amazing too. Well, Slack is where I learnt from other SheCoders that it is OK to feel stuck while working on a project, and that there is no shame at SheCodes if you cannot piece everything together at a given time. We are all learning and supportive of each other. Definitely, SheCodes is the place to be for everyone willing to learn coding. Here's to, as Matt says, happy coding.

As an absolute beginner, my experience with SheCodes was great. I was afraid I would not be able to do it, that I would find it too hard or get stuck or just bored of it, but it was the opposite. Thanks to a great team that is always ready to support you and Matt's very clear lessons, I managed to get through all classes and challenges and I actually understood how much I like coding. This is of course just the beginning, but I have found something challenging and fun that I really enjoy doing. I suggest to everybody who is interested in coding to give this a try and not be afraid: it is gonna be a rewarding experience.

I'm a working single mom, enrolled in online school full time, with a background in art. I was able to complete all of the SheCodes workshops in 5 months, and I am so happy that I committed my time to the workshops! I am so proud of the work I completed, the apps I built, and all of the connections I made along the way. I cannot wait to take my new skills into the workforce and into my art!

Learning to code through the SheCodes workshops has been a great experience! At the beginning of last summer, I didn't know how to write any CSS or Javascript. Through consistently spending 5-10 hours a week working through the workshops at times that fit my own schedule, I now feel comfortable building React apps.
